Deep Roots, Full Hearts & a Farm of Our Own
Welcome to Haus of Highlands! We’re the Morgan family: Ciji, Chris, our twin boys Carson and Cooper, and our seven-year-old daughter, Kensington. We’re a family of five in Ventura County, brought together by a love of animals and a dream of building a farm our children could grow up loving.
A girl and her heart horse.
For me, that love began long before our farm did. I grew up riding horses, and one unforgettable Christmas, when I was eight years old, I received my heart horse, Poco, who was also eight. From that Christmas until he passed away at the age of 33, he was part of my life for 25 wonderful years.
We grew up together, and I had the privilege of loving and caring for him for the rest of his life. That lifelong bond helped shape the love of animals I now share with my children.
“Generations of local roots, a little girl’s love for her horse, and a family creating something meaningful to share.”
Deep roots in this part of California.
My family, the Kramers, owned and operated the Calabasas Store. My great-grandfather, Frank Cooper, was born upstairs in the store, and so was my grandmother, Lila Cooper. Our family also owned a large ranch in Liberty Canyon.
Lila later married my grandfather, Wallace, whose family were early farmers in Camarillo. That connection to the land is a part of our family history I’m proud to carry forward.
A busy household of five.
Chris and I met in high school, although we didn’t begin dating until after college. We married in 2009 and built a life together that eventually became a busy household of five. Today, Carson and Cooper are in high school, and Kensington is seven.
Six years ago, we moved to Ventura County and began making our dream of a family farm a reality. We’ve been caring for animals and running our farm together ever since.
Our miniature fluffy cattle.
Our miniature fluffy cattle are a special part of Haus of Highlands, and we’re excited to share that love through our miniature cattle sales. Helping another family welcome a miniature cow from our ranch is a meaningful part of our journey.
We look forward to meeting the people who become part of our ranch’s story as our cows become part of theirs.
Come meet the animals.
We also offer a variety of ranch experiences that give visitors a chance to meet our animals, enjoy time together, and share a little of the farm life we love. Whether you’re considering a miniature cow of your own or simply want a memorable visit, we look forward to welcoming you.
With love,
Ciji, Chris, Carson, Cooper & Kensington Morgan
